My Success Stories

Chris came to Matthew three years ago after being told he had problems with his hips. Chris made a conscious decision to change from his passion of running to try out a new form of exercise – he has never looked back since!

Chris’ story is amazing. He could barely swim 25m freestyle without being completely out of breath! His main goal was to complete the Great North Swim the year after! With lots of dedication from Chris, his stroke developed in to what can only be described as natural!

I am so proud of the efforts he has put in – his commitment and enthusiasm for swimming is that of a young athlete!

Success Stories

Graeme came to work with Matthew in 2017 after wanting to develop his ability to swim in general. He is a high level Football referee who wanted to develop his all-round fitness! Graeme wanted to learn how to swim how I describe as backwards – he hardly wanted to be in the pool and wanted to spend the summer in the open water!

Graeme’s attitude towards learning new skills is amazing – he has recently completed the 2018 Great North Swim in Windemere! Onwards and upwards for Graeme, I have such high hopes for him!

Success Stories

There’s no other words to describe Angela than “Truly Amazing!”

Angela began working with TriOpenWater with limited experience and skills in the water, her confidence levels were low but she had the heart of a lion to just ‘get in and go’.

Angela worked extremely hard with developing her freestyle technique over the course of the summer in 2017 – like Graeme she wanted to spend more time in the open water!

Angela has recently completed the Great North Swim 2018 in Windermere and words cannot begin to describe how proud I am of her and her efforts and commitment!

Keep up the amazing work!

Success Stories

David started training with Matthew in the pool in around 2016 and has always had a natural ability to swim, technically David just needed some fine tuning to his technique and he was set! He was one of the main reasons that I have decided to venture in the world of professional open water coaching!

David has a love for swimming and has completed THREE Great North Swims! His work ethic is fantastic and loves to be pushed in the water! Whatever I tend to throw at him he takes very well!

David is an active swimmer with TriOpenWater and I know he will go on to develop further in the future!

Great North Swim 2018

Graeme, Angela and Paul were all first timers to the Great North Swim - what an epic performance they produced! David is now a veteran in his third Great North Swim!
